The AMT0306 is designed to safely remove and install seized 32mm trim caps on Yamaha F115-F150 and Evinrude outboards without damaging the aluminum housing. As part of our upgraded 300-Series, this tool is crafted from polished marine-grade stainless steel, handles over 200 ft-lbs of torque, and is backed by a Lifetime Warranty. To prevent tool slip—which can strip pin holes and damage cylinders—this wrench features a hex-body design that locks perfectly into the AMT0170 Protective Sleeve (Sold Separately). By resting the outboard directly onto this sleeve, the engine's weight securely traps the wrench against the cap, ensuring safe and precise removal under heavy breaker-bar pressure.

Wrench Worked Well

The wrench is well-built and worked very well for my 2006Yamaha F150. In my case, the outboard has been used on a freshwater lake since new so I didn't have any corrosion to deal with. A little tricky to use since one must keep the AMT0306 very flat against the cylinder caps while simultaneously turning the cheater bar used on with the socket wrench. In the end, the AMT0306 made short work of cap removal and installation.

Good quality strong tool. Made it easy to remove trim tab covers on a 2002 90hp Honda outboard. I had tried a cheaper y shaped tool from Ebay, pin holes were miss drilled and bent, don't waist you time and money. Marine tool worked perfect.

Good quality and extra pins provided in case of shear failure

Tool worked great! I like that a couple extra pins were included in case of shear failure removing the cylinder caps. Comments from a you tube video recommended using a PVC pipe segment pushed down by the engine to apply pressure on the tool head and hold it firm against the caps while breaking the caps loose. I tried that and it worked very well. No pin failure or tool slipping off.
