Since this article was published, Marine Tech has revolutionized outboard service with the Patented 300 Series Pin Wrench System. Our legacy tools featured in this post (AMT0004, AMT0006, etc.) have been officially retired and replaced by our high-torque, anti-slip 300 Series.

Suitable for Yamaha, Suzuki, Johnson, Evinrude trim and tilt end caps

At some point as a boat owner, you’ll need to remove or replace your end caps. Over time of wear and tear, these seals loosen, allowing both fluids to leak out as well as letting air in. Regardless of the maintenance required on your boat, the first step will be to remove the seals. To do this with ease, we engineered our Yamaha Trim/Tilt Pin Wrench Set.
The combined three wrench set works on all Yamaha, Johnson, Suzuki, and Evinrude trim and tilt end caps. Plus, it’s very strong. Its ultra-high-strength stainless steel design allows for a minimum 180 lbs proof strength. Replacement pins are also available if you’re in need.

Replacement Pins (Sold Separately):
If you don’t need all three in the set, for your convenience, all of the above wrenches along with a variety of pin and piston wrenches can be purchased separately. As usual, Marine Tech is here to create tools that save you time and give you more boat days.

Follow along on our Youtube channel as we show you a Yamaha Trim Seal Repair / Rebuild. Trim seals that are blown out and leaking can lead to bigger problems if not corrected quickly. Eventually over time, if not repaired, the system takes on-air or other debris and you will find your outboard motor seized in either the up or down position and it simply won’t move. Saltwater boats that have been sitting in the water for a while can have unique problems and you may find yourself needing additional equipment, such as a breaker bar, to do the job properly.

A solid quality tool at a fair price makes doing this portion of tilt rebuild easy and without damage to precision machined parts. Paid for itself on the very 1st use and still like brand new after multiple jobs.
