Whether you’re new to Marine Tech or you’ve been a fan, purchaser for a long time, you may have noticed that we’ve recently dropped the “Tools” in our name. I, Leon, founder, engineer, and fellow boat owner, am here to give you an update on where we’re going as a community and to touch on where we’ve been in the past.

We (Matt, left; Leon, right) started Marine Tech Tools in 2015 with the simple goal of bringing high quality specialty tools to boat owners and marine mechanics.
The inspiration of the company was simple. We’re located in Charleston South Carolina and we use our boats a lot. We hunt, we fish, we cruise with the family and hang out on the sand bars. Our boats are more to us than another toy, they’re part of our life. We service our own boats and when something breaks; we fix our own boats. We have enjoyed helping the people around the world that share our passion and empowerment that we are fortunate enough to enjoy.

Our next chapter began in 2020 as we transitioned to Marine Tech. While we will certainly continue to develop and provide more specialty tools, we will also expand to offer service and parts as well as high-quality boating gear. We are very excited about the gear, because when you are on a boat, it comes down to the simplest of things that are important: a good shirt, board shorts with pockets, sunglasses that protect the eyes all day long.
All Marine Tech products are made by engineers, myself and my business partner. This won’t change when it comes to our gear. We’ll be channeling our engineer-level attention to detail you expect of our tools into our apparel and boat accessories.
As we transition to our own designs and control the manufacturing process, we will be utilizing recycled materials and even ocean bound plastics to do our part to protect the ocean and waterways that we love so much.

People buy our products when they have a specific need or repair, but we like to think that they stay around because they share the passion of fixing your boat yourself and having more boat days. As we begin to develop and release more products and gear, we’d love for you to be a part of that process. If you’re interested in joining our community and getting free gear, fill out our community form here.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for being a part of the community already and I look forward to building this vision of Marine Tech together.
