About Us

Built for the Mechanic. Built for the Boater.

Founded in 2015 in Charleston, South Carolina, Marine Tech Tools engineers specialty tools for two kinds of people: the professional marine mechanic who needs tools that perform shift after shift, and the serious boat owner who refuses to hand their boat over to a shop when they can fix it themselves.

We started because the tools available weren’t good enough — OEM options were expensive, hard to source, and often poorly made. So we built better ones. Purpose-engineered, saltwater-tested, and backed by a lifetime warranty.

Who We Serve

Professional Marine Mechanics

Your livelihood depends on tools that don’t fail. Our tools are machined from high-strength materials, designed for impact and torque, and built to handle the volume of a working shop. When you reach for a Marine Tech tool, it does the job — every time.

DIY Boat Owners

You know your boat better than anyone. We give you the same professional-grade tools the shops use, paired with step-by-step YouTube tutorials and direct support — so you can handle your own maintenance, save money, and get back on the water faster.

What We Stand For

Lifetime Warranty

If it fails, we replace it. No questions asked. Learn more about our warranty.

Built for Salt Water

Designed in the Lowcountry for the harshest marine environments. Corrosion-resistant materials, purpose-built geometry, and real-world testing — because we use these tools ourselves.

Community Driven

With millions of views on YouTube, we’re building a community of mechanics and boat owners who share knowledge, tackle tough jobs, and help each other succeed on the water.

Meet the Founder: Leon Griffin

Leon Griffin founded Marine Tech Tools out of necessity. As an avid boater and hands-on mechanic, he saw firsthand that the tools available weren’t built for the job — so he engineered ones that were.

“We hunt, we fish, we cruise with the family. When something breaks, we fix it ourselves. I wanted to share that empowerment with other boaters.” — Leon Griffin, Founder

In 2020, Marine Tech Tools expanded to include high-quality parts and gear, growing from a tool company into a full-service resource for marine mechanics and boat owners alike.
