About
The Marine Tech Hydraulic Steering Bleed System is an affordable, user-friendly solution for bleeding SeaStar, BayStar, and most Uflex hydraulic steering systems.
This system is engineered for both basic and complex setups, including autopilots, power assist, and multiple helms. By utilizing gravity instead of an electric pump, it eliminates the need for battery hook-ups. All fittings feature leak-free quick disconnects, ensuring a mess-free installation and clean storage.

- 3-Quart Reservoir
- 25 Feet of Return Hose
- Brass Helm Fill Adapter
- 1/2" Thin Wrench (specifically for bleed fittings)
- 5-Gallon Bucket for easy storage and transport

- INCLUSIONS & COMPATIBILITY — The kit includes (a) 25 feet of return hose, (b) 3 quart reservoir, (c) brass helm fill adapter, (d) 5 gallon bucket for easy storage and transport, & ½” thin wrench for bleed fittings. It makes the bleeding and filling process easier and simpler. If you are a professional or a do it yourself mechanic, this is a must have.

Just used this kit after ... Replacing end cap cylinder seals.

Just used this kit after replacing the end cap seals. This is a well thought out system and simplifies the bleeding of your hydraulic lines, cylinder, and helm pump, it is a very clean, fast, and easy to use.
I do wish that the hose on the bottom of the tank which fills the helm pump was a bit longer, maybe 12".

Awesome product. Very easy to use, gets the job done quick and works great. I bought this kit several years ago and don’t normally take the time to write reviews, but I had a great customer service experience with these guys recently and decided to leave my review. I broke one of the quick connects this past week and got online to order a replacement. I emailed support to make sure I was getting the right part. They went to the trouble of looking up my original order, determined I was under a warranty that I didn’t know I had, and sent me a replacement part. Completely unexpected and awesome service. If there were more companies out there like these guys we’d be in pretty good shape.

Works very well. We have a marine service shop and did it with ease. We do have to be EXTRA CAREFUL with oil,most of our work is bass boats,so oil and carpet don't mix. I had the choice to buy the power purge or this 1. As far as mess, this is the better of the systems in so many ways, you guy do make nice service tools ????, like to see a dealer cost. For the amount of different types needed, gets expensive. On that , they are worth there benefit to cost

It would have been nice to supply instuctions, I did watch the youtube video, however still nice to have something printed in front of you to glance at. One of the lines was split where it met the barbed end of the connector. By the time I noticed I had quite a bit of fluid all over the back of the boat. Something not mentioned, should all the lines be drained after use prior to prolonged storage?

I rarely leave reviews. This is the exception. I had to bleed the air out of the system after replacing a bunch of steering components. I’ve always dreaded this. I could never get 100% of the air out. Covered in hydraulic oil and chasing bubbles, I would curse to the heavens, shaking my fists, and screaming “there has to be a better way!”. I ask our digital overload, Google, for remedy. I was blessed with pages on power purge jr....could this be it ? Scroll down...$1,000? NOPE! Then all of a sudden, marine tech tools appeared like a biblical character with a five gallon blue bucket. I wipe my weary eyes, forgetting I have hydraulic fluid all over my arms, I screamed in agony and glory. After washing my eye balls out, I ordered it straight away. :::actual review::: connected this right up, used the slim wrench, hung the reservoir, and watched the bubbles be exorcised from my steering system. I highly recommend this system. I can see this being great for fluid changes as well.

Excellent product, well made, very clean operation to bleed, well thought out. Also purchased puller to change seastar seals- Don't even think about doing this job without the pullers- Also purchase seal wrench which attaches to a ratchet- very well made- Overall I give Marine Torch 6 stars
