The Problem We Set Out to Solve
Servicing an outboard lower unit is awkward work. The geometry is wrong, the weight is uneven, and most shops end up improvising - balancing the unit on a bench, propping it against a wall, or holding it in place while trying to work. It's slow, it's risky, and it's not how professional-grade service should look.
We designed the Marine Tech Tools Work Stand System to fix that - in the shop and in the field.
What's in the System
The system is built around the AMT0182 Modular Lower Unit Stand - a heavy-duty powder-coated steel stand with tool-free clamping knobs and a UHMW insert that holds your lower unit securely at the right working height without scratching the finish. It's solid, stable, and purpose-built for the job.
What makes it a system is the adapter architecture. The stand accepts two adapters that expand where and how you can work:
- AMT0180 Receiver Hitch Adapter - Mounts the stand into any standard 2" receiver hitch, turning the back of a pickup truck into a mobile service station. Built for mobile mechanics and field service techs who need a professional setup wherever the boat is.
- AMT0128 Pipe Interface Adapter + AMT0126 Bench Mount - Bolts to your shop workbench and accepts the stand via a large-diameter pipe interface with full 360 degree rotation. One fixed station, complete access to every angle of the lower unit without lifting or repositioning.
We also offer the k1026 Mobile Kit - the stand and receiver hitch adapter bundled together, ready to work right out of the box.
