In order to remove the bearing carrier (or housing) from most outboard gear cases, you have to pry against the seal surfaces surrounding the bearing carrier. This can cause damage to the seal surfaces and takes extra time and effort.
So at Marine Tech, we have developed our own bearing carrier pullers to make the removal process quick and relatively painless. It’s basically a slide hammer with a hollow body and a specially adapted set of claws designed to get at the bearing housing without damaging seal surfaces. While the original design is built for upper bearing housing, we’ve also created an upgraded design for use on your lower bearing housing as well.

When troubleshooting electrical problems, a test harness allows you to measure voltages and resistances without cutting and splicing harnesses. The harness connects into the motor wiring so you can measure the component while the motor is running.
We carry an assortment of 3 pin, 4 pin, and 6 pin harnesses for use on your Yamaha motor. Once you’ve diagnosed the electrical issue, you’ll be well on your way to solving it and getting back out on the water.
