Get to know the team of people who make up Marine Tech.

Nine times out of ten, when you think of Marine Tech, you’ll think of our tools. This is, of course, our goal, but we also want to know and meet the people behind Marine Tech. This includes the people who create the tools, but it’s also the people who have bought from Marine Tech for years and share our passion.

Today we’re introducing you to Leon, owner of Marine Tech. Read below for a quick Q&A with Leon. To learn more about Marine Tech as whole, get to know us here.

Favorite place to boat and why?

Current boating lifestyle is mostly family time, so we cruise around the Charleston inner waterways with Capers Island being a frequent stop.  I can also be found black water diving in the Cooper riverfor sharks teeth and freediving in the clear waters off shore.

How did you get into boating and repair?

My opinion is if you have a boat, you are into boating repair. As with boat handling skills, boat repair knowledge continues to grow even after decades. Boat ownership comes with a certain amount of self-sufficiency and responsibility. Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of your boat is part of the experience.

Tell us a bit more about what you're passionate about when it comes to boating? Is it fishing / exploring / diving / enjoying the water?

All of the above. That's the beauty of the boat, it enables you to experience things that are simply inaccessible without one. I have used the boat for, cruising with the family and friends, scuba diving, free diving, fishing inshore and offshore, even to go listen to a concert. The boat allows you to bring people together to do something in a way that is unique to the boat. If the weather is good, it's very hard to have a bad time on a boat.

What boat do you have?

2014 Seafox 246 Commander

What's your dream boat?

Whatever is about 3' bigger than my current boat.  My son keeps asking me when we are getting our two-motor boat.  The next boat will likely be a heavier offshore center console with ... 2 motors.

When you're not on a boat — what're you doing?

Wishing I was on my boat...Work and family do a pretty good job of consuming most of my time.  I get out hunting during deer season and put about 1000miles on my road bike.

Anything else you'd like to share?

Looking forward to continuing to grow Marine Tech to help more people Get More Boat Days!  I very much enjoy serving this industry.
